De gustibus non est disputandum
Anonymous asked: Looking to get a good pair of brogued/wingtip dress boots. Preferably something good year welted as well :) It will be my first pair, so I suppose in chocolate or a chestnut brown? I'd be wearing it with alot of Ivy style and Neapolitan staples, what do you recommend?
I think dark brown is a good choice to start with. Depends on how much you want to spend, but Leather Soul has a great boot selection. I have the Alden CXL wingtip boots on the plaza last, which are amazing, and I believe they restocked those recently. For a few cheaper options, check out pediwear, which stocks a number of great British goodyear welted wingtip options, like the Barker Sowerby.

I’d also suggest Frye or Mr. B by Aldo. Not sure if Mr. B is goodyear welted or not, but those are another couple of cheaper (~$200) options. And the Dalton boot by Allen Edmonds has a lot of great reviews. If you wanted any other input, that is…
