Cashmere/Wool Light Blue E.G. Cappelli Necktie
from: Linkson Jack
A little while ago, I was approached by Linkson Jack, the eponymous owner of the burgeoning online purveyor of mens accessories, to review one of the ties he stocks. He was kind enough to send me the necktie pictured above, made by E.G. Cappelli, one of the rising stars in Italian neckwear. And to sum up: it did not disappoint - this thing is beautiful and my new favorite for a variety of reasons.
First off, the tie drapes exceptionally well. It is light and malleable and really takes on the relaxed Italian style that many are coming around to these days. With its handmade, lightweight, three-fold construction the tie exudes craftsmanship and has a very pleasing artisanal look that many mass-produced pieces are simply missing. The edges aren’t pressed, which adds to its overall nonchalance as well. While there is clear hand stitching present, it is not overwhelming and adds character to the tie - the overall feel is one of refinement, elegance, and importantly in my book, versatility. I would have no trouble wearing this with a suit, blazer, or cardigan. The tie knots well, as shown above in a simple four-in-hand.
EG Cappelli is already well known amongst those in the business for the fabrics they utilize and the understated, classic patterns they choose for many of their neckties. While this tie is ostensibly a solid, it takes on depth with faint but detailed speckling throughout. Cappelli was founded in 1995 by a former chemist, Patrizio Cappelli, and folks are already traveling to Naples to visit his store firsthand. Not hard to see why, as his products are clearly special.
Pick up your own here at Linkson Jack and you won’t regret it.
